From One Birthday To The Next

To describe me takes talent... all I can say is, "Come back here and i'll bite your legs off!" Thats my favorite line from Monty Pythons-The Holy Grail... If I haven't scared you off with that brief introduction, i guess you deserve to read some more about me.

Busy Day...

Today was a very busy day
It started at four thirty am when we got in the car and drove away
from our house and traveled foward toward our destination
the was nothing to do in the car, so we decided upon thoughtful meditation.

With the sounds of "Construction Zone" and Alan Sherman floating in the air
By the time we reached the airport, I was SO glad we were there!
Saba and Savta were arriving, for good this time, its true
The sky was still dark and murky, but it was slowly turning blue!

Upon entering the airport, everything was quiet, whispers wafted across the room
People tried to suppress their excitment, but it kept escaping with a boom
Everyone was happy, elated, carefree
When would the Olim get here, its them we came to see!

The busses pulled up, the Olim popped out
The "guests" all waved flags and started to shout!
Welcome to Israel one and all
The speakers continued... If we stand together we will not fall!

Hypocrisy forgotten only happiness remained
We followed the little children out to wait for Saba and Savta and be entertained...
The ballon man was still around, so we watched them run and fight with swords
They chased each other, played in the fountain, and got caught in the electric doors.

Where are Saba and Savta? we wondered, thought, and waited
But it was all worth the effort when they emerged, somewhat belated...
Catch a taxi, load it up, start the engine, its time to roll!
Straight to our wonderful Grandparents house, where the baked ziti was waiting in its bowl.

While watching one of Savta's DVDs we ate a yummy lunch
The sticky little children made the floor say "crunch!"
The house is mostly empty, the Priesers have said goodbye
"So now its time to sweep up," I thought, with only a little sigh.

We stalled our departure and kept Saba and Savta awake some more
Savta looked like she could fall asleep, even on the floor!
So Mommy recommended "naptime" and on that we all agreed
But Malky was still stuck in Jerusalem with her suitcases and in need

The rescue van departed from the Polly house, at almost two o' clock
We made very good timing on the road and Eema was in shock!
But shocking as that was, fitting the suitcases into the car
Was an interesting procedure, we hoped the door would not remain ajar.

But we shoved and pushed and placed
and I think made use of the good space
A very big accomplishment was now tucked under our belts :)
Like driving in Great Britain, with the Englishmen and Celts!

Homeward bound we were, but two more stops became appealing
Iced Coffee as number one, the caffiene almost made me hit the ceiling.
Lori's apartment was stop number two...
at least she has one, i thought, and she won't be living in a shoe.

Actually, it's a very nice apartment, it comes with the perfect place
to put a beanbag chair, relax, and fall asleep with a smile on your face.
But home was pulling us toward it. The call could no longer be denied
So we went home and made supper, greek salad and french fries!

Ok, so we didn't eat any potatoes, but sometimes you have to dream
Instead we had spicy soup in place of pumpkins that were creamed
We put aside the take out that was to be delievered to 999 1236
I hope you enjoyed the soup, Saba and Savta, I send you each a hug and kiss!

The day has truly been busy, but the swimming pools waters do tempt
us three sisters to put on bathing suits, not one of us exempt
Breaststroke, backstroke, crawl, and even almost drowning
we dove after colorful rings and performed other nautical clowning.

Now its time to wash the chlorine out of our hair and off our clothes
I think its time to lay down on my bed and start to doze
Once again i'll start my project of becoming the first human inactive volcano
But the morrow will bring the sunrise and a list of chores to be done-o.

(poetic license extended- if you don't like it, feel free to file your complaints with the complaint department... by the way... thats not me... i'm not the complaint department!)
