Well, I must say it's quite a relief to know you're still alive. Though speaking of the weather, I don't think I'll be around much longer... God, I hate the summer here.

Oh dear, I hope I haven't offended you. It honestly never occured to me to wonder whether you might not be alive. Should I have? And even if I had, the fact that you're writing sort of gives it away.
On the other hand, the idea that you would need to question this, coupled with your comment about the beach with unclear purposes leads me to consider that it's pretty late.
